Methodologies

We recognise that engaging with global theories and modern processes is challenging for Muslims in terms of locating and creating theories that align with Islamic morality. To address these limitations, we have developed  the methodologies of the Shariah Framework and Islamic Applied Approach.

The Shariah Framework is an interpretive framework guiding Muslim life in all dimensions, shaping how we perceive and understand reality. It provides a distinct logic and methodology that can reinforce or challenge existing narratives, presenting alternatives to establish collective identity and shape social and cultural contexts.

The Islamic Applied Approach offers a multidimensional perspective from an Islamic starting point. This conceptual framework provides guidance on expanding our understanding of Islamic logic and engaging consistently with Islamic ontology as well as developing theories through normative articulation of knowledge constitution.
